Bishop Carroll Boys to strong for Hutch High in 1st round of TOC

WICHITA, Kan.—The Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles exploded for 3 quick scores inside the final 2 minutes of the 1st quarter Tuesday night in route to building a 16-6 lead at the quarter mark.  Eight Hutchinson turnovers allowed the Golden Eagles to man-handle the Salthawks.  

Bishop Carroll led 31-19 at the half and pushed the lead up by more until the final buzzer and scoreboard indicated a 65-39 victory for the Golden Eagles.  

Bishop Carroll advances to the final four of the Tournament of Champions and will take on Goddard Eisenhower Thursday night at 5pm in Dodge City.

Hutchinson will take on Newton who was defeated by Eisenhower Tuesday night at Newton Thursday at what now looks like it will be a TBA time.  It may be a 6pm game start time, but the decision will be made Wednesday morning.

Hutch High might also play Kapaun Mt. Carmel on Saturday afternoon in Wichita.  That also will be decided on Wednesday morning according to Hutch High Athletic Director Kevin Armstrong.

Bishop Carroll is now 6-2 on the year.  Hutchinson falls to 2-5 on the season.
