HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Friday was a good day for Hutch High basketball, as the Hutch High girls bounced back from a first-round loss to Great Bend to win in the consolation semifinal of the Glacier's Edge tournament in Emporia over Shawnee Heights 45-28. Aliyah Green had 12 points, Grace Posch had 10.
The girls will play this morning at 11 a.m. against Goddard Eisenhower for the consolation championship.
The Eisenhower boys came to the SAC for a boys only tilt Friday night and Hutch High won 74-54.
Hutch led at each quarter break 18-12, 34-28 at half, 52-43 and 74-54.
Garrett Robertson led with 25, Kinser Newquist 11 and Nic Lange 10.
Khalil Mendoza lit up the crowd with a big 1st quarter dunk. Hutch hosts Derby next Tuesday at the SAC.
