WICHITA, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs begin play at the 90th NBC World Series this evening against TPA Texas at 6 p.m. The game will be played at Eck Stadium on the campus of Wichita State University.
The Monarchs are the defending NBC World Series champions after defeating the Santa Barbara Foresters last August.
Hutchinson enters NBC World Series pool play with a 27-7 record this summer, including a 14-2 mark in the second half of the Jayhawk Collegiate League. The Monarchs won the second half title after the Haysville Aviators won the first half.
The Monarchs will continue pool play at midnight on Saturday night/Sunday morning against Tulsa Sandlot, and then will conclude pool play on Monday evening at 6 p.m. against the Seattle Cheney Studs.
