WICHITA – The Wind Surge couldn't get anything going offensively as the Springfield Cardinals won Friday night 5-2 at Riverfront Stadium. The Cardinals plated a pair of runs in the second and one in the third. The game remained 3-0 until the seventh, when Springfield extended their lead on a Nolan Gorman home run.
The Wind Surge would finish with only six hits, stranding ten total on base. Their first run of the night would come on an Aaron Whitefield walk in the bottom of the seventh, and their second run coming on a Jermaine Palacios solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. Springfield's final tally was a single run in the ninth.
Wichita and Springfield will play the fifth game of the series on Saturday evening, with the first pitch at 6:05 p.m.
