TOPEKA, Kan. — Heartland Motorsports Park has lost its premier event for the 2020 season.

The NHRA announced today the remainder of its NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series calendar, which will feature six more national events to complete the 2020 season.

It does not include the track in Topeka, which is regularly one of the fastest on the NHRA circuit and brings about 60,000 spectators to the track on a race weekend. The event is one of six removed from the schedule because of scheduling conflicts or other factors brought on by the pandemic.

The Mile High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado, was also canceled.
