Monarchs win over Derby Saturday, now 5-1 on the season

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs hit their way to a home win over Derby 9-3 Saturday night at Hobart-Detter.

The Monarchs tallied three runs in the first and two in the second. The Twins had a single tally in the fourth. Each team plated a pair of runs in the 5th and the Monarchs closed out the scoring with a pair in the eighth.

Noah Greise homered for Hutchinson. Garrett Anglim went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI. Cooper Harris also drove in two for the Monarchs.

Hutchinson also finished off a game that was suspended in Derby on Friday at Hobart-Detter Saturday. That win was 12-6. Hutchinson is 5-1 on the year and plays the Sunflower Seeds at Hobart-Detter Sunday. First pitch is at 6 p.m.
