The Salvation Army of Hutchinson is inviting the community to its annual Fight for Hope fundraising dinner, scheduled for Friday, August 8 at 6 p.m. The event, held at 700 N. Walnut, will feature a catered meal, guest speaker, live music, and a silent auction — all in support of local services for those in need.

Tickets are $50 and available in advance or at the door. Sponsorships, which include table seating for eight and promotional opportunities, range from $400 to $1,250. All proceeds go toward programs that serve residents across Reno County.

“This is our biggest fundraising event of the year,” said Major DJ James, who leads the Hutchinson Salvation Army. “It’s a great night of connection and community that allows us to keep helping people year-round.”

The dinner will be catered by Salt City Brewing Company, with Hutchinson Regional Medical Center President and CEO Benjamin Anderson delivering the keynote address. The silent auction will include a range of items, from gift cards and baked goods to family passes to the Kansas State Fair and an inflatable kayak — currently occupying space in Major James’ office.

“I’m always amazed by the generosity of local businesses,” James said. “The auction is a highlight every year and there’s something for everyone.”
