GREAT BEND — The Hutchinson Monarchs bats were silent on Tuesday as Great Bend pounded Hutchinson 13-0 at Al Burns Memorial Field.
It only took seven innings to decide the contest, as Jake Kuntzendorf shut the Monarchs down throwing six innings of shutout three hit ball. Kolby Parker threw the other inning of shutout relief. Zane Spinn doubled and homered for Great Bend.
The Monarchs drop to 11-3 on the year. Great Bend is 10-4. The two teams continue their series at Hobart-Detter in Hutchinson Wednesday night. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
