HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Interfaith Housing is looking for volunteers to help finish the work for their homeless shelter for those aging out of foster care and otherwise without adult support from ages 18 to 22.
The property at 1005 N. Washington Street in Hutchinson is being renovated into eight one-bedroom fully furnished apartments. Interfaith is leading the renovation and construction of the LightHouse and will be managing the apartments and organizing mentorships resources for the residents.
The focus for the project is now shifting to interior painting, trim work and cabinet installation. Local groups are encouraged to volunteer and lend skill to helping finish this project.
Contact Interfaith at 620-662-8370 to volunteer.
