Sheriff releases ID of homicide victim found southwest of Salina

SALINA — The Saline County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the man found dead southwest of Salina on Tuesday as Marc Anthony Tipton, Sr., 42, of Salina, according to Sheriff Roger Soldan.

Tipton's body was found near the intersection of S. Halstead Road and W. McReynolds Road.

The case remains an active multi-agency homicide investigation by the Salina Police Department, Kansas Bureau of Investigation, and the Saline County Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday, the Salina Police Department announced that it had arrested Manuel Medina-Castro, 27, of Salina, on the requested charge of second degree murder.
