HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Board of Commissioners clearly wants to express their desire to see regulations eased to make an effort to allow for more childcare options in the community. County Commissioner Ron Sellers acknowledged the previous statements of Chairman Ron Hirst in support of legislative reform in that area.

"I hope we can say something before the Legislature starts again next year," Sellers said. "I would like to make some kind of formal document to our legislative group to help get the state to work on that better."

Reno County nonprofit groups have been sounding the alarm regarding childcare supply in recent months.

The Reno County Health Department hosted a childcare training and orientation class earlier this month.
