HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The case of a Kansas City man who is accused of aggravated battery in an incident on the ring road near the Hutchinson Walmart and Uptown Hutch will continue next month.
The state presented its witnesses in the preliminary hearing for Deontre Watley-Jones on Thursday. The hearing will continue with Jones' evidence on November 5 at 3:30 p.m.
Jones is accused of shooting 54-year-old Darin Rodriguez and having the bullet ricochet and hit 74-year-old Paula Thomas who was driving the car Jones was in back in November of 2019.
