HUTCHINSON, Kan. — After a long meeting with Hutchinson Police, the city and others, the protest march that was postponed for Friday will be held on Saturday.

Organizer Teresa Delgado announced after the meeting that the march will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The march will run from 30th Avenue south down Main to 11th Avenue and then back again ending around 1 p.m.

Delgado said that this is a peaceful march and any violence will not be condoned and the police department will be there to watch over the event. She noted that the meeting with law enforcement was a good one.

The event was scheduled for Friday but was postponed after social media highlighted various posts that got law enforcement's attention. Since then some businesses have closed and others have taken action to protect their business. Although the event is now Saturday, most Reno County offices will be closed at noon Friday.
