Deputies find, arrest wanted Kansas felon at motel

SHAWNEE COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a wanted Kansas suspect in connection with two incidents at a residence in Shawnee County.  

Just before 5:30 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to a domestic incident in the 700 block of SW Greenview Drive, according to Deputy Shayna Anderson.

At the residence, a reported that a male suspect identified as 47-year-old Jason G. Gfeller of Topeka was possibly inside the residence and possibly armed with a weapon.

Deputies cleared the residence but did not locate Gfeller.

 Members of the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Warrants Unit began searching for him, according to Anderson.

At approximately 11:30a.m. deputies located him at motel in the 700 block of SW Fairlawn Road.

Police arrested Jason G. Gfeller into custody, transported him for questioning and then booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requsted charges of Domestic aggravated assault, Aggravated intimidation of a victim, Aggravated criminal threat and Criminal damage to property.

Gfeller was also arrested on charges stemming from another incident occurring on May 24 including Aggravated assault, Criminal damage to property and Assault
