HUTCHINSON, Kan. — If those working on the front line of the COVID-19 issue need roadside assistance, AAA is there for them.

"Health care professionals and first responders on the front line are spending so many hours protecting us while at work," said Shawn Steward with AAA Kansas. "We want to protect them on their journey there and back. AAA Kansas is providing roadside assistance services to healthcare workers and first responders at no charge through the end of May."

Most problems that put you on the side of the road are covered.

"Tire changes, lockout services, fuel delivery, jump starts and installation of batteries are covered," Steward said. "We have a mobile battery service where we can actually bring out a battery to your vehicle. They'll have to pay for the cost of the battery, but we'll install those free of charge."

Membership is not required.

"To initiate roadside assistance service, all they need to do is call 1-855=328-9090," Steward said.

In addition, AAA Kansas is offering health care workers and first responders 50% off primary dues plus one free associate, 50% off a second associate and $5 off annual renewal now through the end of the year. To take advantage of this offer, call 1-844-945-0620.
