HUTCHINSON, Kan. — After a very brief meeting and one revision, the Hutchinson Community College Board of Trustees approved pay for employees during the shutdown caused by the pandemic.
The resolution passed by the board will allow the college to make payments to all regular employees, including regular salaried and hourly employees through May 31 unless the board takes action to authorize payment for a longer period of time. The original resolution was to extend payments through June 12, but was shortened by two weeks.
It is the third time the college has extended pay to its employees since the pandemic shut down the campus and forced the school to go with online classes. The first extended pay to April 10, the second to May 6 and the current resolution approved Wednesday to the end of the month.
