Meetings are underway with the different business sectors across Reno County to inform them of the current situation and look toward how a local economic reopening would take place.
"We had 60 people registered for the calls today, so far," said Debra Teufel with the Chamber.
The heaviest day of the information sessions will be Thursday.
"Ten breakout sessions are scheduled, starting at 7 a.m. and they run clear through 8 p.m. and then Friday, two additional sessions," Teufel said.
This is all to inform the sectors and for them to decide who will represent their industries on the steering committee.
"All of that will culminate with the steering committee meeting, which will be Friday at 1 p.m.," Teufel said. "Each committee will self-select, kind of a spokesperson to serve on that steering commitee and we'll have more information on that as the days progress."
If you'd like to register for your industry's meeting, you can do so on the Chamber's coronavirus response page at https://www.hutchchamber.com/coronavirus.
In addition to the 16 sector representatives, there will be a handful of government representatives from every level, so the total number of people on the committee will likely be between 20 and 25.
