HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Easter Sunday is traditionally a time to attend church and have large family gatherings.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Reno County Health Department is asking you to explore new celebration traditions and ideas this year. If you normally invite your friends and family over for an Easter celebration, please consider and encourage celebrating separately this Easter.
Options for your gatherings could include phone calls, Facetime, Zoom Chat, or other social media resources that allow you to be together while maintaining safe distances.
Many local Churches have voluntarily sought to follow proper social gathering guidelines and are using technology such as live-streaming services or radio broadcasts for their congregations to participate in services. Reno County Health Department would like to recognize and thank the many congregations in our community that have chosen to protect the wellbeing of our community while still offering opportunities to gather in innovative ways.
We continue to highly encourage Reno County residents to continue social distancing and to be dependent on health authorities to provide the most accurate information on COVID-19.
Please continue to practice good hygiene with frequent hand washing, proper respiratory etiquette such as coughing and sneezing into your elbow bend, limit handshakes and physical contact. Stay home if you are feeling ill and call your primary care physician to discuss your symptoms.
