In a case that may illustrate many of the issues Kansas is having with the COVID-19 outbreak, the fourth case in Harvey County announced by the Health Department there Monday actually recovered from the illness while waiting for his test results to come back.
The man in his 50s had known out-of-state travel, and had been in self-quarantine. The KDHE requires COVID-19 patients to self-isolate for seven days after onset or 72 hours after resolution of fever, whichever is longer.
Testing was completed by a private lab. The case will still continue to be under investigation. The Health Department will follow up on all contacts.
Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly has issued a Stay Home executive order until April 19 in response to COVID-19.
