HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Nemaha Central girls came into the Class 3A state tournament undefeated and as the top seed. It took one quarter to see why. The Thunder led 11-4 after one and had control after that in a 45-35 quarterfinal win over Osage City Thursday in Hutchinson.

The Thunder were paced by Alleigh Kramer's 17 points. Emma Elder had a well-balanced game with 8 points and 10 rebounds for Nemaha Central.

Osage City put three players in double figures in the losing effort, with Danielle Kerns netting 11, Hayden Serna cashing in 10, most of them on drives late in the game and Taylin Kirkpatrick also contributing 10, but early foul trouble limited her to just 22 minutes on Thursday.

The Thunder are 24-0 and will play the winner of Phillipsburg and Cheney at 3 p.m. on Friday at the Sports Arena.
