AMES, Iowa (AP) — Ashley Joens scored 15 points, including the decisive free throw with 0.9 second left, to help Iowa State stun No. 2 Baylor 57-56, ending the Lady Bears' 58-game regular-season Big 12 winning streak on Sunday. The Lady Bears (28-2, 17-1 Big !2) last lost a conference regular season game to Texas on Feb. 6, 2017. Their only other loss this season came to South Carolina in November in a Thanksgiving tournament. Iowa State (18-11, 10-8) took a 56-53 lead on Joens' layup with 37 seconds left. Juicy Landrum tied the game 14 seconds later with a 3-pointer.
IRVING, Texas (AP) — Kansas center Udoka Azubuike has been selected as the Big 12 player of the year by the league's coaches. Baylor's Scott Drew was named coach of the year in the voting by his conference peers. The Big 12 awards were announced Sunday, the day after the end of the regular season. Azubuike is averaging 13.7 points and 10.5 rebounds a game. The 7-footer is also shooting an NCAA-best 74.8% from the field for the regular-season champion Jayhawks. Big 12 runner-up Baylor is 26-4 and spent five weeks as the nation's No. 1 team. The Bears also set a Big 12 record with 23 wins in a row.
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Erik Stevenson scored 18 points with nine rebounds and Wichita State beat Tulsa 79-57 to end American Athletic Conference play. The Shockers are the fourth seed to the conference's post-season tournament, which starts Thursday in Fort Worth, Texas. Wichita State gets a first-round bye and will play in the quarterfinals Friday against the winner of No. 5 UConn and 12th-seed Tulane. Martins Igbanu had 20 points for the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa - which also gets an opening-round bye - heads to the tournament as the No. 3 seed. The Golden Hurricane face the winner between sixth-seeded Memphis and No. 11 seed East Carolina.

PHOENIX (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss at least one more game after suffering a minor knee sprain during Friday’s loss to the Lakers. The NBA’s reigning MVP fell hard on his left knee but remained in the game before undergoing an MRI. He missed Sunday’s loss to the Suns. Antetokounmpo ranks third in the NBA in scoring with 29.6 points per game and fourth in rebounding with 13.7. He also averages 5.8 assists.
AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Joey Logano won for the second time in three weeks by holding off Kevin Harvick over the final two laps after an overtime restart at Phoenix Raceway. Logano overcame several tough moments, including a pit-road penalty for an uncontrolled tire and a broken jack during another stop. Kyle Busch was third, followed by Kyle Larson and Clint Bowyer. The race was the first under NASCAR's new rules package for short tracks, which included a significantly smaller rear spoiler.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Tyrell Hatton overcame high winds and jittery nerves to capture his first PGA title and fifth worldwide. Hatton kept it together down the stretch by playing bogey-free over the last seven holes for a 2-over 74 to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational by one shot over Marc Leishman. Hatton had a three-shot lead when he drove into the water on the par-4 11th into the wind. Hatton went well over the green with his third shot, chipped short of the putting surface and had to make a 6-footer for a double bogey.
UNDATED (AP) — Texas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun was hospitalized with a broken jaw yesterday after taking a fastball in the mouth. The left-handed hitter crumbled after being struck in the jaw by Dodgers left-hander Julio Urias in the first inning. He fell on his back, put his hands over his face and was eventually carried off on a cart. The 25-year-old Calhoun set career bests with 21 homers, a .269 average and an .848 OPS in 83 games.
UNDATED (AP) — The BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament has been postponed after a case of coronavirus was confirmed in the Coachella Valley. The Riverside County Public Health Department has declared a public health emergency for the desert cities located 110 miles east of Los Angeles. That area includes Indian Wells, where the combined ATP and WTA tours were to play the two-week tournament starting Wednesday.
