Deputies locate wanted felon during search of Kansas home

BARTON COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on drug charges after a Thursday afternoon raid at a home in Great Bend.

Just after 3:30 p.m., the Great Bend Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence located at 3222 18th Street in Great Bend as part of an on-going narcotics investigation, according to Sheriff Brian Bellendir.

During the execution of the search warrant, resident Tina Smittle, 43, and another individual identified as Lucas Webster,  39, were located inside of the residence.

During a search of the residence, methamphetamine, marijuana, and items of illegal drug paraphernalia were located.

Webster was arrested on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine and illegal drug paraphernalia, in addition to multiple arrest warrants for probation violation. He has four previous convictions for theft and two for drugs, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Smittle was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, illegal drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and no drug tax stamp.
