EMPORIA, Kan. — The Hutchinson Salthawk girls won Saturday afternoon at the Glacier's Edge Tournament in Emporia 46-38 over Goddard Eisenhower.
For the second straight day, the second quarter is when the Salthawks got going. They trailed after one quarter 13-6, then outscored the Tigers 12-8 in the second, 18-12 in the third and 10-5 in the fourth quarter en route to the 8 point win.
Hutchinson was paced by 20 points from Tina Robertson. Mekenzie Hefley added 11 and Gabbie Posch had 8 for the Salthawks.
Freshman Addi Verbeck hit four threes to lead Goddard Eisenhower with 12. Kennedy Nicholson, who had given the Salthawks trouble in last month's meeting, was held to 10.
Hutchinson, now 7-4, plays next against Derby Tuesday.
