Police: Kansas felon had shotgun during alleged family dispute

SALINE COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after a weekend altercation in Salina.

Just after 2:30p.m. Saturday, police were sent to the 1200 block of Prospect in Salina after report of William Kelley, 36, of Salina, getting into a verbal altercation at a family member's residence involving domestic relations and children, according to Salina Police Detective Sergeant David Villanueva.

Kelley left the residence with a shotgun before police arrived.

They arrested him on requested charges of trespassing and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon. He has a previous drug conviction and has been out of prison since May of 2016.
