🎥🏀Hutch Salthawks use sufficating defense to out last Goodland

COLBY, Kan. - The Salthawk Boy's basketball team finally got that elusive win out in the Orange and Black Classic in Colby over Goodland 67-38 in the consolation 7th place game on Saturday afternoon in Colby.

Hutch fell behind 8-2 before the Salthawks exploded with the defense feeding the offense to lead 19-10 after the 1st quarter.  Hutch then extended the lead to 40-21 at the half paced by Junior Micah Montandon's 13 points in the 2nd quarter.

Third quarters have been an experience for Hutchinson this season but today was different as the Salthawks matched the Cowboys and actually out scored them in the 3rd 14-13.

Hutchinson held Goodland to only 1 field goal in the 4th quarter to win going away today 67-38 to earn their first win of the season.

Hutch was lead by Treyton Peterson with 15 points, followed by Montandon's 13, Christian Hernandez off the bench with 11 points and Weston Kraus with a solid 12 points.  Brennan Brumbaugh chipped in 17 points for Goodland in a losing cause.

Next action for the Salthawks is a make-up game postponed due to weather from January 10th versus Newton.
