COLBY, Kan. - The Hutchinson Salthawks trailed at the half 30-25, but DSST-Green Valley Ranch had other thoughts of letting the Salthawks earn their first win of the season. The Raptors blitzed the Salthawks in the 3rd period and won going away 82-69.
Hutch made a run late in the contest to cut it to a 10 point difference, but couldn't hold serve as the hot shooting Raptors answered every run.
Weston Kraus let the Salthawks with a career high 18 points, plus Kinser Newquist put up 12 along with Treyton Peterson's 10 points. Freshman Garrett Robertson and Jake Huhs added 9 pts each.
DSST-Green Valley Ranch was led by Sophomore Luke Williams as he had a game high 33 points. Tim Huston also added 12 to the Raptos total as the run their record to 10-2 on the season and match up with Scott City for 4th place tomorrow afternoon at Colby High School/
The Salthawks will play out the tournament for 7th place versus the Goodland Cowboys at 11:30 am Saturday at the Colby Community Building.
