Sheriff's deputy finds Kan. man driving van with stolen property

SHAWNEE COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects for burglary.

Just before 4a.m. Tuesday, a Shawnee County deputy located a vehicle near SE Branner Street and SE 6th Street that matched the description of a vehicle involved in recent burglaries in Shawnee County, including the Peck Subdivision, according to Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer.  

The deputy noticed damage on the silver Mazda minivan, that matched damage shown from residential security system photos submitted from recent burglaries.

The deputy conducted a traffic stop and found Narcotics and stolen property  inside the minivan.  He arrested the driver identified as  Salvador Parga Rodriguez, 26, of Topeka on requested charges of Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of Methamphetamine, Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Felony Warrants for Aggravated Robbery and Felon in Possession of Weapon and Registration Violations.

Deputies also arrested the passenger identified as Ana G. Acosta-Salas, 27, of Topeka for two Bench Warrants from the city of Topeka
