County Commission to take action on landfill contracts

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Commission will appoint a chair and vice chair to kick off Tuesday’s meeting.

Once the formality is over, the commission will take care of a host of new contracts for the landfill. The board will seek approval of contracts with SCS Engineers for engineering services, environmental monitoring and consulting for the landfill. The total cost of the services is $489,100.

The board will also seek approval of several purchases for the sheriff's department, including four Ford SUV Hybrid utility patrol vehicles at a cost of $117,188 after trades and a new patrol truck for $16,602.

The board will also hold a public hearing and take action on vacating a small portion of Victory Road located ¼ mile north of Greenfield Road.

Tuesday’s meeting of the Reno County Commission begins at 9 a.m. at the Reno County Courthouse.
