HUTCHINSON, Kan. - After holding off on the continued renovation of the USD 308 Sports Complex, the Hutchinson USD 308 School Board will go over a revised plan for the soccer fields during tonight’s regular meeting.

The new proposal would lengthen the time schedule for replacing the practice fields saving the district about $72,000. The district is also asking Hutchinson Community College to chip in about $37,000 towards the cost of the renovation. The change will require the school district and the clubs that use the complex to find other avenues for hosting tournaments and games until the work is finished. Hutch Rec and the district have a shared facilities agreement in place with Hutch Rec having access to the sports complex and the school district having free use of Hobart-Detter Field and Fun Valley.

If approved the work on all four fields would begin this spring. Tonight’s USD 308 Board meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the school district offices at 1520 North Plum.
