HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson's housing commission will have a special meeting next Wednesday to get new council members up to speed.

According to the agenda released Thursday, the special meeting at 3 p.m. January 15 in the City Council Chamber Workroom will give new council members background on the Housing Commission and the history of housing issues in the City of Hutchinson.

This comes in light of a policy proposal floated in the last Hutchinson City Council meeting by Vice Mayor Jade Piros de Carvalho to decriminalize nuisance violations for things like aesthetic issues.

The new council members will be seated at the next City Council meeting later this month.
