HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Although it had been rumored for some time now, Reno County District Judge Tim Chambers made it official Wednesday morning. He will not seek re-election next year and will retire.
Chambers has been the judge in Division II since 2001. He won the seat vacated by retired Judge William “Buck” Lyle.
Before becoming a judge, Chambers served as the Reno County Attorney and eventually District Attorney in the county. He was also in private practice before that.
Chambers was a 1977 graduate of the Washburn School of Law in Topeka.
