HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Stuff the Bus campaign for BrightHouse was a success last Saturday.
The event held in front of Dillons Marketplace raised a record $1,600 in cash donations. More than $1,500 in gift cards was also donated. My 93-1 sponsors Allen Samuels, Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q, Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and Sleep Shoppe and Furniture Gallery also donated $1,000 to the cause. Patrons also stuffed the bus with many items needed at the shelter, filling every seat of the bus and the entire floor.
The funds raised will be used to purchase fresh food, milk and other needs for women and children at the shelter.
More than 1,200 shoppers also took the time to learn more about BrightHouse and the services it provides in Hutchinson and the surrounding area.
