🏀 Buhler takes a pair from Salthawks in season opener for both schools

BUHLER, Kan.- The Buhler Crusaders had big 2nd and 3rd quarters as Max Alexander and Isaac Leshore paced the way for Buhler to win 78-62.

Alexander scored 21 for the game including 15 second half points alos with Lashore's 26 points to lead the Crusaders.  Treyton Peterson has 19 pts to lead the Salthawks.  Weston Kraus scored 12 and Jake Huhs contributed 10 pts.

In the varsity girls game, Buhler's Maggie Epp hit a 3 pointer to tie the game at 40-40 after Hutchinson had rallied behind Tina Robertson's 3 pointers in the fourth quarter.  The Crusaders won it at the free throw line with Kara Stutterheim hit two 4th quarter free throws and Hayley Miller scored 3 points in the final minutes to win 40-37.

Buhler was led in scoring by Haley Miller 11 pts., Alyvia Owens 11 and Maggie Epp with 11. Hutch was led by Tina Rovertson's 14 pts, and Jaci Moriasi had 10 pts.

Hutchinson returns home to host Arkansas City on Friday at the Salthawk Activity Center.
