HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Health Department is operating as normal on Thursday, as their building did not lose power in Wednesday's strong winds.

According to Karla Nichols with the Health Department, even if they had an electrical outage, the vaccine refrigerators are served by a backup generator.

The Health Department continues to administer vaccines during their normal operating hours. Appointments by phone are required for those ages 5 to 11, but adults can walk in.

Call 620-694-2900 and select option 6 for scheduling.

Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines are all available for initial doses.

Also available are boosters for those for whom it has been six months since their initial two-shot series or two months since their single dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
