Raymundo 10th in NJCAA Indoor Pentathlon

PITTSBURG - Hutchinson Community College sophomore Rebeca Raymundo placed 10th on Friday in the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Women's Pentathlon.

Raymundo, the only Blue Dragon women's athlete to qualify for the 2021 indoor national championships, placed two spots higher than she did in 2020 when she finished 12th in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Raymundo scored 2,331 points in the five-event competition at Pittsburg State's Plaster Center.

She started the day with a 14th place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, collecting 575 points.

Raymundo then cleared 4 feet, 9 1/2 inches in the high jump with tied for eighth and was worth 588 points, her best individual event point total of the meet.

Raymundo then scored 324 points in the shot put after a best effort of 22 feet, 5 inches. She scored 466 points in the long jump, going 15 feet, 3 inches.

Raymundo then closed out the competition with an 800-meter time of 2;58.72. That was worth 378 points.
