
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The USD 308 Board of Education heard a presentation from the Hutchinson High School JAG-K (Jobs for America’s Graduates Kansas) chapter as part of its meeting on Monday.
During the Program Highlight section of the meeting, Marcus Moeder, the JAG-K coordinator for Hutchinson High School, was joined by Region 4B Manager, Elizabeth Hamblin, and junior Hailee Black.
The group presented on the JAG-K curriculum and explained its goals of employability, career readiness, and academic support. Black shared how taking JAG-K as an elective has helped through her high school journey.
The Board also approved new courses for high school students, most of them in fields provided by HCTEA.
They include Introduction to Art, Workplace Experience in Engineering, Workplace Experience in Architecture and Construction, Workplace Experience in Marketing, Workplace Experience in Manufacturing, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drones), Intro to Agriculture, Agriscience, Agricultural Food Science, Animal Science, Plant and Soil Science, Horticulture, Biotechnology in Agriculture, Agricultural Leadership & Communication, Agricultural Internship, Rules & Officiating and Animal Health/Vet Tech.
The next regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting is Monday, May 9, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Faris Elementary School, 301 E 10th.
