BUHLER, Kan. — The Buhler City Council will meet Tuesday evening and take time to appoint a new council president. The council has not had a president since Jake Schmidt became the city’s mayor after Daniel Friesen resigned from the post when elected to the Board of Reno County Commissioners.
Once that housekeeping item is finished, the council will make appointments to the Economic Board and the Recreation Commission and pass a resolution giving the 11 full-time employees a wage increase. The increase amounts to 2% and was approved in November.
The Council will finish off the meeting with the usual reports. Tuesday’s meeting of the Buhler City Council begins at 7 p.m. at the city offices at 219 N Main. There will be public access but seating will be very limited.
