
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team remain No. 1 in the final poll of the regular season, released on Monday afternoon by the NJCAA.
The Blue Dragons are currently 29-0 overall, 23-0 in Jayhawk Conference play.
HutchCC will close out the regular season on Wednesday at Garden City at 5:30 p.m.
The Blue Dragons have already locked up the KJCCC title and will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Region VI Tournament. The No. 1 seed guarantees a first round bye, and a quarterfinal game at the Sports Arena on Tuesday, March 12 at 5:30 p.m.
This marks the fourth straight week the Blue Dragons have been ranked No. 1 in the poll.
Hutchinson began the 2023-24 season unranked and picked second in the KJCCC preseason poll.
The Blue Dragons are one of two Jayhawk Conference teams in the final poll of the regular season. Dodge City dropped three spots from No. 14 to No. 17.
Wabash Valley (IL), Gulf Coast State (FL), Collin County (TX) and Northwest Florida State round out the top five.
