DODGE CITY, Kan.—"The glass slipper fits pretty good" is probably what the Hutchinson Salthawk Boys Basketball team is saying this morning as the Hutchinson went to the sub-state ball and came away with it's first sub-state Championship since 2009 with a 67-43 win over the No. 2 seed Dodge City Red Demons.

Hutch jumped out to a early 10-0 lead in the first quarter and never trailed as the Salthawk defense locked down Dodge City to only 2 free throws in the 3rd quarter.  Hutch was led by Senior Myles Thompson who had 19 of his game high 24 points in the first half of play.

The Salthawks dominated the inside as well as shooting 63.6% from the field in the first half.  The 3rd quarter told the tale as not only did Dodge not score a field goal in the quarter, Thompson banked in a right wing 3 as the buzzer sounded to push the lead to 49-26.
