MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Ochai Agbaji hit a baseline jumper with 9 seconds left to lift No. 7 Kansas over Kansas State 78-75. Agbaji's shot gave Kansas its first lead since early in the first half and snapped K-State's two-game winning streak against ranked foes. Agbaji scored 29 points. Jalen Wilson added 16 points for Kansas, and Christian Braun and David McCormack with 11 each. Kansas State wasted a career-high 35 points by Nijel Pack. Markquis Nowell had 16 and Selton Miguel added 11. Kansas made just 15 of 22 free throws in the second half but was saved by a 45-23 rebounding advantage.

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Damion Baugh scored 23 points to help TCU upset No. 15 Iowa State 59-44. Baugh hit 11 of 17 shots, while TCU (13-3, 3-2 Big 12) held the Cyclones to their lowest point total in the 50-year history of Hilton Coliseum. The previous low was 45 points against Tennessee in 2018. Iowa State (14-5, 2-5) struggled to get much going offensively, hitting just 31% of its shots and committing 11 turnovers. Izaiah Brockington led the Cyclones with 19 points and 12 rebounds, marking his seven double-double of the season.

CHICAGO (AP) — Isiaih Mosley scored 40 points and Missouri State beat No. 22 Loyola Chicago 79-69, ending the Ramblers' 10-game winning streak. Donovan Clay added 16 points and Gaige Prim 11 for the Bears, who last beat an AP Top 25 team Dec. 28, 2011, when they defeated No. 21 Creighton 77-65. Braden Morris had 16 points and Lucas Williamson 11 for Loyola Chicago, which had won 30 straight home games for the fourth-longest active streak in Division I. Missouri State led by as much as 20 and shot 60.9% from the field after halftime — and 53.8% for the game. The Bears also went 8 of 19 from beyond the arc. 

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Keegan Murray had 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocks and Iowa beat Penn State 68-51. Kris Murray, Keegan's twin, scored 10 of his 13 points in the second half for Iowa. The Nittany Lions twice cut their deficit to three in the second half but Iowa answered with a 3-pointer each time and they got no closer. Bohannan made 3 to make it 35-29 about two minutes in and 11 seconds after Myles Dread hit from behind the arc to pull Penn State to 44-41 Kris Murray answered from deep with 10:59 to play. Jalen Pickett led Penn State with 14 points.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Roman Penn scored 18 points and Garrett Sturtz and Tucker Devries each posted double-doubles and Drake beat Northern Iowa 82-74 in overtime. Penn made two foul shots to break a tie at 72 with 2:39 left in overtime and the Bulldogs led the rest of the way. Sturtz had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Devries scored 11 with 11 rebounds. AJ Green scored 27 points for the Panthers.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Ryan Kalkbrenner posted 18 points and 10 rebounds to carry Creighton to a 60-47 win over DePaul. Jalen Terry led the Blue Demons on Saturday with 10 points and six rebounds.

DENVER (AP) — Tevin Smith had 18 points to lead five Denver players in double figures as the Pioneers romped past Nebraska Omaha 94-63. Denver's 94 points were a season high. Michael Henn scored 13 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and distributed six assists for the Pioneers. Felix Lemetti had 12 points for Omaha.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs could have running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire available for the first time in nearly a month when they play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night for a spot in their fourth consecutive AFC championship game. Edwards-Helaire practiced all week for the first time since hurting his collarbone in the second half against Pittsburgh on Dec. 26. Chiefs coach Andy Reid also said that linebacker Willie Gay Jr. would play against Buffalo. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor criminal damage to property this week. Gay pleaded not guilty on Thursday and practiced on Friday.

NFL PLAYOFFS-SCHEDULE

Bengals end another playoff drought

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans played 17 games to claim home-field advantage in the NFL playoffs. Both teams were actually kicked out of the postseason after 60 minutes.

Robbie Gould drilled a 45-yard field goal as time expired to give the San Francisco 49ers a 13-10 upset of Green Bay. Gould continued his playoff perfection and moved the Niners one step away from their second Super Bowl appearance in three seasons. He's 20-for-20 in playoff field goal attempts.

The Packers led 10-3 until Jordan Willis blocked a punt and Talanoa Hufanga ran six yards for the tying touchdown with 4:31 remaining. The Packers then went three-and-out, giving the 49ers time for a winning drive.

A.J. Dillon's 6-yard touchdown run capped a 69-yard drive on the game's opening possession that put the Packers ahead 7-0. Green Bay's offense didn't do much of anything after that.

In Nashville, rookie Evan McPherson kicked a 52-yard field goal as time expired to lift the fourth-seeded Bengals past the Titans, 19-16. The kick sent the Bengals to the AFC title game for the first time in 33 years and came after Cincinnati squandered a 16-6 lead in the second half.

Luke Wilson picked off Ryan Tannehill with 20 seconds left at the Cincinnati 47. Joe Burrow hit Pro Bowl rookie receiver Ja'Marr Chase with a 19-yard pass and the Bengals ran twice to set up McPherson for the win.

Burrow shook off being sacked nine times as Tennessee tied an NFL mark for the most in the postseason. The Bengals' second-year quarterback threw for 348 yards, and Chase finished with 109 yards receiving.

Tannehill was picked off three times and the Titans remained winless in home playoff games since 2003.

Tennessee had Derrick Henry on the field after he missed nine games with a broken foot. The 2020 Offensive Player of the Year ran for a touchdown and finished with 66 yards.

Today's other NFL playoff game is in the fourth quarter with the Packers leading the 49ers, 10-3. Neither team had reached the end zone after AJ Dillon's TD run in the first quarter. Mason Crosby added a 33-yard field goal in the final period.

NFL-BUCCANEERS-FOURNETTE

Fournette set to play

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay running back Leonard Fournette has been activated from injured reserve and will play in Sunday's NFC divisional playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fournette appeared in 14 games before a hamstring injury landed him on IR on Dec. 23. His missed the final three weeks of the regular season and last week's 31-15 wild-card playoff win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Auburn stretches win streak

UNDATED (AP) — Second-ranked Auburn trailed by double-digits at home on Saturday before extending its winning streak.

The Tigers trailed by 10 in the first half before posting their 15th consecutive win, 80-71 against No. 12 Kentucky. Walker Kessler scored 19 points and K.D. Johnson had 17 for the Tigers, who are 18-1 overall and 7-0 in the SEC. Kessler shot 8-for-10 and had seven rebounds.

The Wildcats scored 13 consecutive points to build a double-digit lead six minutes into the game.

Oscar Tshiebwe had 16 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots for Kentucky.

— Adam Flagler provided 16 points and fifth-ranked Baylor picked up its 14th straight road win by defeating Oklahoma, 65-51. LJ Cryer had 15 points and the Bears took advantage of 25 turnovers to improve to 17-2 overall and 5-2 in the Big 12.

— AJ Griffin hit a team season-high five 3-pointers for sixth-ranked Duke in a 79-59 rout of Syracuse. Griffin was among four Blue Devils to score 15 points. Paolo Banchero had 15 points and 13 rebounds in his fourth double-double of the season.

— Ochai Agbaji capped his 29-point afternoon by nailing a baseline jumper with nine seconds remaining to send seventh-ranked Kansas past Kansas State, 78-75. Jalen Wilson added 16 points for the Jayhawks, who trailed most of the game until Agbaji's go-ahead bucket.

— Johnny Juzang scored 23 points, including a pair of crucial free throws with 16 seconds left as ninth-ranked UCLA held off Colorado, 71-65. Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 14 points for the 13-2 Bruins.

— Kyler Edwards had 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for 10th-ranked Houston in a 79-36 thrashing of East Carolina. Edwards scored 17 first half points as the 17-2 Cougars built a 44-14 lead.

— Collin Gillespie, Justin Moore and Jermaine Samuels combined for 65 points as 11th-ranked Villanova knocked off Georgetown, 85-74. Gillespie was high man with 28 points on 6 of 9 from 3-point range, Moore finished with 19 points and Samuels had 18 as the Wildcats won after trailing by eight in the second half.

— Santiago Vescovi scored 16 points and 24th-ranked Tennessee opened on a 14-0 run to beat No. 13 LSU, 64-50. Vescovi hit 4 of 7 3-pointers in the first half and finished 5 of 11 with six rebounds.

—Damion Baugh scored 23 points on 11 of 17 shooting to help Texas Christian upset No. 15 Iowa State 59-44. The Horned Frogs held the Cyclones to their lowest point total in the 50-year history of Hilton Coliseum.

— Drew Peterson scored 23 points and Boogie Ellis added 18 to power No. 16 Southern California past Utah, 79-67. Peterson made all five of his 3-point attempts and went 9-for-10 from the field in addition to grabbing seven rebounds.

— Terrence Shannon scored a season-high 23 points and 18th-ranked Texas Tech remained undefeated at home with a 78-65 win over West Virginia. It was the 1,300th college game coached by West Virginia's Bob Huggins.

— Isiaih Mosley scored 40 points and Missouri State beat No. 22 Loyola Chicago 79-69 on Saturday, ending the Ramblers' 10-game winning streak.

—Marcus Carr scored 14 points and made two free throws with five seconds remaining, and No. 23 Texas defeated Oklahoma State 56-51 to snap a two-game losing streak.

NBA-SCHEDULE

Bucks win without Greek Freak

UNDATED (AP) — The Milwaukee Bucks were able to win without Giannis Antetokounmpo on Saturday.

Khris Middleton scored a game-high 34 points and Jrue Holiday added 26 in his return to the starting lineup, leading the Bucks to a 133-127 win over the Kings. Middleton sank a clutch 3-pointer with 1:09 left after the Kings had rallied within three points. Holiday added a slam in the final minute to make it 126-120 with 48 seconds left.

Antetokounmpo sat out with right knee soreness one night after scoring 30 points in a defensive struggle against the Bulls.

Also in the NBA:

— Mikal Bridges tied a season high with 23 points and Bismack Biyombo matched his career best with 21 in the Suns' sixth consecutive win, 113-103 versus the Pacers. Biyombo also grabbed 13 rebounds as the Suns improved their NBA-best record to 36-9. Phoenix withstood a tough night for leading scorer Devin Booker, who had just 11 points on 5-of-23 shooting and missed his six 3-point attempts.

— Darius Garland and Evan Mobley led the Cavaliers to a 94-87 win against the Thunder. Garland provided 23 points and 11 assists in Cleveland's sixth win in seven games. Mobley added 15 points and a season-high 17 rebounds, giving the rookie nine double-doubles in 39 games this season.

Bulls' Caruso sidelined by broken wrist after Allen foul

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso will have surgery next week to repair his broken right wrist.

Caruso was injured while being taken down by Grayson Allen during the third quarter of Friday night's 94-90 loss at Milwaukee. Allen was called for a Flagrant Foul 2 and was tossed from the game.

The team says Caruso will be re-evaluated in six to eight weeks. Caruso is averaging 8.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists over 28 games in his first season with Chicago.

In other NBA news:

— Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. is out of health and safety protocols and available to be on the sideline Sunday against the Celtics. Unseld said Saturday he felt good. He said he had mild symptoms after his positive test.

NHL-SCHEDULE

Bruins edge Jets

UNDATED (AP) — The Boston Bruins have followed Tuesday's blowout loss to Carolina on Willie O'Ree Night with back-to-back victories.

David Pastrnak's power-play goal early in the third period was the difference in the Bruins' 3-2 win over the Jets. It was Pastrnak's 10th goal in as many games.

Tuukka Rask made 21 saves for Boston in his third start after re-signing this month following offseason hip surgery.

Charlie Coyle and Oskar Steen also scored for Boston, which is 10-2 since New Year's Day. Brad Marchand started after leaving Thursday's game with an upper-body injury that was expected to keep him out.

In other games Saturday:

— Gabriel Landeskog scored 1:16 into overtime to send the Avalanche to their 15th straight home win, 3-2 over the Canadiens. Valeri Nichushkin had a power-play goal and assisted on the game-winner in his return after missing three games while in health and safety protocols.

Ross Colton scored twice and the Lightning won for the seventh time in nine games by blasting the Sharks, 7-1. Alex Killorn and Steven Stamkos each had a goal and an assist in the rout.

— Nicklas Backstrom set up two goals before scoring 73 seconds into overtime to complete the Capitals' comeback in a 3-2 win over the Senators. Ottawa had a 2-0 lead in the third period until Alex Ovechkin notched his 28th and 29th goals to grab a share of the league lead.

— Chris Kreider also has 29 goals after registering a hat trick in the Rangers' eighth win in 11 games, 7-3 over the Coyotes. Defenseman Jacob Trouba scored twice for New York, which trailed 3-1 before helping Igor Shesterkin earn his sixth straight victory.

— Nathan Bastian tallied twice and Jesper Bratt scored the tiebreaking goal late in the second period of the Devils' 7-4 win over the Hurricanes. Andreas Johnsson furnished a goal and two assists as New Jersey dropped Carolina two points behind the Rangers for the Metropolitan Division lead.

— The Maple Leafs earned a 3-1 win over the Islanders as Morgan Rielly had a goal and an assist. Mitch Marner and Pierre Engvall also scored as the Leafs handed the Isles the second regulation loss in their last 10 home games.

— The Predators came away with a 4-1 win over the Red Wings behind Matt Duchene's two goals and an assist. Nick Cousins and Filip Forsberg also scored and Juuse Saros made 28 saves for Nashville.

— Marcus Foligno scored with 37.9 seconds showing on the clock in overtime to send the Wild to a 4-3 win over the Blackhawks. Minnesota twice trailed in the third period but got goals from Kirill Kaprizov and Kevin Fiala to force OT.

— The Flyers absorbed their 11th straight loss as Jeff Skinner, Tage Thompson and Peyton Krebs each scored twice to send the Sabres to a 6-3 decision over Philadelphia. The Flyers tied the league's longest skid of the season and pull within one of the team record of 12 set in 1999.

— The Oilers' seven-game losing streak is over after Leon Draisaitl had two goals and two assists in their 5-3 victory over the Flames. Evan Bouchard also scored twice and Mikko Koskinen stopped 44 shots as Edmonton won for just the third time in 16 games.

TENNIS-AUSTRALIAN OPEN

Nadal advances to Aussie Open quarters again

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Rafael Nadal is into the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for the 14th time. He survived a 26-point tiebreaker in the opening set of his 76-6-2, 6-2 win against Adrian Mannarino. Nadal needed seven set points before finishing off the 28-minute, 40-second tiebreaker.

French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova has reached thewomen's quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-2 win over two-time champion Victoria Azarenka. The fourth-seeded Krejcikova needed only 85 minutes to earn a meeting with Madison Keys.

Keys became the first woman to reach this year's quarterfinals with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 victory over eighth-seed Spaniard Paula Badosa.

PGA-AMERICAN EXPRESS

Hodges, Barjon share lead at LaQuinta

LA QUINTA, Calif. (AP) — Lee Hodges and Paul Barjon took advantage of a late tee time to miss the worst of a windy day and share the third-round lead in The American Express.

Hodges fired an 8-under 64 and Barjon signed for a 65. The PGA Tour rookies and close friends each birdied the par-5 fifth, par-4 seventh and par-5 eighth and closed with a par.

Tom Hoge was a stroke back after a 68 at La Quinta, playing in the second group off the first tee in the strongest wind of the day.

LPGA-TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

Korda has slim lead

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Nelly Korda is just ahead of a stacked field going into final round of the LPGA's 2022 kickoff event, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.

The top-ranked Korda limited her mistakes in challenging, chilly conditions for a 3-under 69 with four birdies and a bogey, and is 13-under 203 overall.

Danielle Kang and Mexico's Gaby Lopez each went bogey-free in matching Korda's 69 and will begin the final round one shot back.
