
No. 6 Oklahoma and No. 10 Iowa State will play in CFP New Year’s Six Bowls to give the Big 12 two teams in the postseason structure for the fifth season in its seven years. The Conference is sending at least 60 percent of its teams to bowl games for the 12th consecutive season and has placed at least six teams in the postseason for 23 straight years.
The Sooners will square off against No. 7 Florida in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl on December 30 while the Cyclones face No. 25 Oregon in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl on January 2. This season’s two appearances mark a total of 12 for the Big 12 in CFP bowls. OU will play in its sixth straight New Year’s Six Bowl while ISU makes its first appearance.
The Big 12 bowl season kicks off on December 29 with No. 21 Oklahoma State competing against No. 18 Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl while No. 20 Texas takes on Colorado in the Valero Alamo Bowl. Two New Year’s Eve matchups are on tap as West Virginia plays Tennessee in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and TCU faces Arkansas in the Mercari Texas Bowl as all of the Big 12’s opponents are from autonomy conferences.
