K-State tests out new ranking this weekend

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kansas State returned to the national poll at No. 25 this week, and the unbeaten Wildcats have a chance to prove they belong right away.

First up is a trip to Oklahoma State, which is also off to a 3-0 start, and then comes a game against No. 4 Oklahoma. The Wildcats have already racked up wins against Stanford, which recently upended USC, along with Southern Illinois and Nevada.

The last couple have come without quarterback Skylar Thompson, who is out indefinitely with a knee injury. The question now: Can young QB Will Howard keep the unbeaten season going Saturday?
