NEWTON, Kan. — The Harvey County Planning and Zoning Advisory Board is holding a meeting on an update to their zoning regulations regarding renewable energy tonight at the Meridian Center in Newton at 6:30 p.m.
Regulations for both solar and wind are part of the language before the board. The public will be allowed two minutes of comment per person, as long as they get there a half hour early to sign in.
The proposed regulations would not allow turbines within 2000 feet of a residence or in a floodplain, which eliminates much of the county from consideration.
