County commission to select new chairman, meet with city

The Reno County Commission will meet Wednesday, Jan. 14, with a regular session scheduled for 9 a.m. in the Veterans Room at the Reno County Courthouse, 206 W. First Ave.

A joint meeting with the City of Hutchinson is scheduled to follow at approximately 10 a.m. The joint session will be held in the Reno County Annex Conference Room, 125 W. First Ave.

During the regular commission meeting, commissioners will consider several consent agenda items, including routine county payments and vouchers, board and advisory committee appointments and reappointments, a resolution directing the filing of a real estate tax foreclosure action, a memorandum of understanding with Growth Inc., and revisions to the Reno County refuse agreement.

Business items on the agenda include consideration of a Caterpillar-certified powertrain rebuild for a county dozer at a cost of $626,724.93, an update to the county travel policy, and the annual reorganization of the Board of County Commissioners. As part of that reorganization, commissioners will appoint a chair and vice-chair for 2026.
