SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect facing multiple charges following a incident early Thursday.
Just before 1am, sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 400 block of West 9th Street in Auburn, Kansas, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
At the scene, deputies learned that a man known to the victims, arrived at the residence and fired a gun multiple times through the front door prior to leaving the scene.
Inside the residence during the shooting were two adults and a one-year-old child. There were no injuries, according to Christian.
Throughout the investigation, deputies gathered important information. At approximately 2:30am, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a gray 2008 Nissan Altima in the 2000 block of SW Topeka Boulevard. The driver identified as 21-year-old Cristofer Paz-Ruiz Topeka, was taken into custody without incident.
Paz-Ruiz was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of attempted 2nd degree murder, aggravated child endangerment, aggravated assault and criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling.
