
HUTCHISNON, Kan. The unemployment rate in Reno County fell by just a fraction in October.
According to the latest from the Kansas Department of Labor the jobless rate in Reno County fell from 4.6% to 4.2%. There were 1,455 residents out of work, all of them in the Hutchinson area. The city’s unemployment rate also fell by one half of one percent to 4.7%.
During the start of the pandemic there were nearly 2,500 county residents unemployed.
The jobless rate for the state stood at 5.3% which is down from 5.9% the previous month. There are still more than 83,000 Kansans unemployed.
