The Royals-Twins series opener on Friday night at Target Field was postponed due to inclement weather.
The teams will now meet on Saturday in a straight doubleheader, with first pitch of Game 1 set for 12:35 p.m. CT. The second game will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Both will be seven-inning games.
The Royals will keep Friday’s scheduled starter, right-hander Ian Kennedy, for the first game Saturday. Kennedy will serve as an opener, and he will be followed by right-hander Jakob Junis, who had been Saturday's original starter.
Left-hander Danny Duffy will start the second game.
