
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — Seven Salthawk wrestlers punch their ticket to the Kansas Class 5A State Wrestling Tournament next weekend in Park City.
Those wrestlers would include: Freshman Cruz Cannon (106), Sophomore Jair Maciel (120), Freshman Max Harris (144), Sophomore Jackson Anderson (150), Junior Kade Smith (157), Junior Skylar Ray (190) and Senior Camden Jensen (285).
As a team the Salthawk's wrap up the 5A West Regional with a 9th Place team finish. The Salthawk's would once again show the grit throuhout the weekend by battling their way through the brackets to earn a spot in next weekends state tournament.
The Salthawks would be led by Freshman Cruz Cannon who would pin his way to the regional finals for a matchup with Goddard's Oscar Gaunna. The remainder of the Salthawk's would punch their ticket by battling through the consolation side of the bracket.
The Salthawks will head to Hartman Arena in Park City for Kansas Class 5A State Tournament action on Thursday. This year's state tournament will look a little different as it will include a 3-day split session tournament including 5A/6A girls, 5A Boys and 6A Boys.
