MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kansas State plays Southern Illinois in its home opener Saturday night at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
The Wildcats are fresh off a 24-7 victory over Stanford at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. But coach Chris Klieman, a longtime Missouri Valley coach, knows better than to overlook the Salukis. His teams at Northern Iowa and North Dakota State made a habit of beating teams from Power 5 conferences over the years.
Plus, the Salukis have 17 sixth-year seniors and two more fifth-year seniors that are unlikely to be awed by playing a Big 12 school.
