HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The local portion of the sales tax rate actually dropped as of October 1, because the Hutchinson Sports Arena renovations were paid off.

"We let the state of Kansas know," said City of Hutchinson Finance Director Angela Richard. "We received confirmation back that they received that. They put out a quarterly guide of tax rate changes. Businesses are responsible for checking that."&nbsp;

The sales tax rate was reduced from 1.1 to 0.75 for the city portion of the sales tax.&nbsp;

The graphic below shows what the current rate should be in different parts of Hutchinson based on the Department of Revenue's Oct. 1 update.
